Overview
At MACAB, I helped improve outreach and communication for Alzheimer’s research projects focused on underserved communities. My role was to make sure our messaging was clear and accessible.
My Role
Developed outreach strategies for multiple research projects
Reviewed marketing materials to ensure clarity and cultural sensitivity
Served as a student representative on the board to connect researchers and the community
Wrote marketing documents and communication plans
Updated website content and created Eventbrite listings
Worked with the media team on PR strategies
Challenges
Making complex research easy to understand and relevant for diverse audiences was a key challenge. I worked closely with board members and the media team to refine messaging and tell clearer stories.

Reflection
This internship taught me how important precise and sensitive communication is in healthcare outreach. It reinforced that good messaging is key to connecting research with real communities.
