Overview

At MACAB, I helped improve outreach and communication for Alzheimer’s research projects focused on underserved communities. My role was to make sure our messaging was clear and accessible.

My Role

  • Developed outreach strategies for multiple research projects

  • Reviewed marketing materials to ensure clarity and cultural sensitivity

  • Served as a student representative on the board to connect researchers and the community

  • Wrote marketing documents and communication plans

  • Updated website content and created Eventbrite listings

  • Worked with the media team on PR strategies

Challenges

Making complex research easy to understand and relevant for diverse audiences was a key challenge. I worked closely with board members and the media team to refine messaging and tell clearer stories.

Results

  • Helped shape outreach for important Alzheimer’s projects

  • Improved marketing materials for better clarity and inclusion

  • Supported stronger community engagement through events and communication

Reflection
